"Own the City" Banner Design Competition
Selected artists will receive $500 Honorarium

Dear Artist,

If you are a visual artist interested in creating public art -- even if you have no previous public art experience -- Blue Line Arts invites you to submit your concepts for the beautification of the historic silos at the Globe Mills building in Alkali Flat by Friday, July 10th, 2015Submit here

Nine selected artists will each receive an honorarium of $500 and ample visibility for their creations. Designs may address the eclectic vibe of Sacramento's Midtown/Downtown, noting Alkali Flat as both the oldest and (about to be) newest residential neighborhood in the city.

Artwork will be juried by Mike Paris, founder and president of BlackPine Communities-the developer of The Creamery at Alkali Flat, Curtis Park Village, and other neighborhoods; Burnett Miller, former Sacramento City Councilman and Mayor, and international art collector; Julie Hirota, CEO of Blue Line Arts and award-winning Arts Executive of the Year 2014 by the Arts & Business Council; and Ed Goldman, Sacramento-based writer, artist and art-collector.
